Talking cable internet sharing area???

sponsored links

I'm still wondering what is really the average download speed of cable internet..... I have look at many chart but, i'm not for sure what the speed is really like.

And what do they means by cable internet is a sharing internet.....

if it is sharing, then what is the area that is shared?

I'm talking about does it means that it shared with all the user that is using that company cable internet or is it just sharing like in each city or so...

like if i'm living in a house and around my house is a bunch of other house which is my neighbors, does it means that just that area around me is sharing with my cable internet connectoin, or a whole city is sharing with me......... ???

I'm on Bueyonder 512K HSI.

My download speed is typically 60K/s but there are so many variables.

downloading from a website is normally 60K but through Kazaa, I'm happy if I can maintain 50K as Kazaa also depends on other users downloading and the source upload speed.

Sharing is, as you mentioned, just those around you. I beleive you can have about 50 people sharing your connection bandwidth. So ideally, you want to be surrounded by computer mongs who have no interest in getting broadband.

You can also get a speed test from the Blueyonder website as well. Don't forget your connection speed is dependent on whether its a USB or ethernet connection.
