We might need to refer to this often, so there it is again, as Hoss posted it at the old board.

For some Burnware w/WinXP you need to install the ASPI layer manually.

Solution:

1) Use ForceASPI's KillAspi.bat (get it from Cyrus Troy's Website ).
If you have a prior install with an error message.

2)Go here & D/L Aspi.zip ********members.optushome.com.au/spamcatcher/aspi.zip

3)Run the aspi.bat file & Hit Enter twice

4)Once that's completed, run the aspi32.exe file, select upgrade, and Reboot

Upon XP's rebooting you will see a message
'x# SCSI host Adapters Detected'

Cheers to Cyrus-troy and Hoss for this information....

I also find that when cdrwin gives the option to insatll its own aspi that it works better. I had the problem where I never installed their aspi drivers and it couldnt find my liteon or plextor, but uninstalled it and when the option came up again, i installed their aspi and then tried it again and there they were.

Yep, when you install CDRWin, it will offer to install its own ASPI. You'd better say Yes even you've already installed other ASPI drivers.
