help needed putting mp3's and programmes on the xbox

I have got a network between the pc and xbox.
i've put mp3's on and I don't know how to play them.
i tried putting xbplayer but it didn't appear on the evo x menu and then i tried running it from xbplorer but that didn't work.
I have also tried putting N64 emu and some games (DO there need pathes?) but i have had no luck.

i have search the forums but found nothing to help me.

Try ripping an original music CD, and see where the XBox puts those ripped music. I never ripped any, but once you find where it is. Maybe try coping it to that folder? Not sure if XBox rips to mp3 or wma.

Firstly I'd advise you to use XBox Media Player to play your MP3s, but I havent actually tried any other programs so there may be better ones...

You say you've put XBPlayer on the hard drive but it hasnt shown up in the Evo-X menu, this is because you need to edit the evox.ini file. For example in my evox.ini under the "menu" section I have the following line:

Item "Media Player", "E:\Apps\xbmp_v1\default.xbe"

This creates a link in the menu to the media player - you'll obviously have to change the link to suit the location of where you put yours. If you need further help with this - send me an email.

Once you have XBPlayer running you can navigate through the X Box hard drive to find and play your mp3s.

In response to your question Jaymus, the XBox rips the files to wma.

qout,
this is because you need to edit the evox.ini file. For example in my evox.ini under the "menu" section I have the following line:

how do i edit the evox.ini file if i havent a pc? i mean i have goldbergs version of evox without pc installed on my xbox and in my c drive there is a file called evox.ini but when u click on it using the xboxs joypad nothink happends, the only thing i can do is highlight the evox.ini file by pressing the x button on the xbox joypad and it will turn blue, then i press the white button to bring up the options, i can rename the evox.ini file if thats what u mean?
