Hey, I'd drive one, although I'm guessing I don't fit in a replica either.

i agree with another poster on this...

the whole point of the vcd svcd scene is to NOT pay for any of the movies, at this point in most ppls "internet world" dvd-r downloadingis just a *****, and thats why they are still being released in vcd and svcd.

i'm not really a divx fan at all at the moment just b/c i can't stand watching movies on my computer, i put them on my big screen in the living room playing through my standalone.

dvd burners and dvds really arent that expensive, i got my 104 for about 265 early this year... jus go to pricewatch.com ..damn ..

for dvd rip movies... jus get the burner, go to blockbuster or your local library( or whatever u non usa ppl have) chek it out and copy it to dvd-r )
then u dont have any worries about quality, as it will be an exact copy.
it aint that expensive. and dvd quality is still far better than any of the others, 30-70mb per minute compared to 1-10? u can definitely tell on a good system, ur second best runner up is the svcd, not sure with ur multi-dvds...but if they are copies then of course they are going to be multi dvd, you can only write to about 4.5 while any movie over approx 89 mins with menus is gonna be over the capacity to fit on one dvd. the released dvds are 2 layered folks(apologies for ppl who know all this already)

i personally don't think the industry is going to make many divx players across the board. :P but good luck, i'll buy one if they do.

It looks like the original poster is refering to buying the discs from a 3rd party.. and that's not too cool. The whole point of the scene is to download and (possibly) burn the movie onto a disc.
LOL
this is a joke right
or is there a set of "3l33t rules" out there that i don't know about.

ADSL connection over year = around 30 a month
or if u trade\buy vcd that works out at 30 films a month

therefore I see no point at min,
plus i have no money

I know a few people who only watch the new movies on thier PC via VCD's(DivX whatever it may be) as they dont have and have no intention of getting a DVD player. TV Out can act just as well (thats what they say not me ). ButDVD dRives for PC's are getting cheaper now too so .
