Black or not-Black is all the same. Like someone else said, a PSX doesn't know, or care if its a black bottomed disc or not. Your just spending more money than you need to for something fairly worthless. Same with scratches. If your careless enough to scratch a non black bottomed disc, then you'll have the same luck with the black ones. Some people just tell themselves they are better, so they swear up and down their system loads "faster" or "quieter" with the black bottomed discs, when actually, they don't. What you should be concerned with is good quality discs. Any Verbatim, Fuji, or TDK will work perfectly fine.

Well cheapest possible could mean the cheapest that works, not the cheapest you can possibly find.

yes, he has a point but still i prefer using a brand that has a certain rep, because these are still a bit better than those no-name cd-rec's.
And yes there is a diff between really cheap media and say, verbatim's and maxell, put them in your car cd player. You'll see what happens, if they will play at all

ps black bottoms do have a thicker layer of dye on them, so they scratch not as easily as others but that makes no difference inside of your psx.
And they have a better look, too. So what ?
