Default Xbox on same road as Dreamcast?

sponsored links

I have been seeing many disturbing reports that the Xbox is doing horrible in Japan. And with the American market also so heavy in favor of the PS2 market share, I fear the Xbox while an awsome systym might fall due to the brand loyalty that Sony and Nintendo have on alot of todays gamers. The Dreamcast had every reason to make it with a great programing enviorment but died due to way too many people holding out for the unproven PS2.Now the Dreamcast is gone and the Xbox looks to be heading down the same road. The only difference I can see is the huge pockets that Microsoft has to stay in the game long enough to convince the fanboys of the world that games are great on all systyms and the Xbox has the best platform to play them on.Alot of people hate Microsoft but it's about the games not name brands.Oh well I'll play them all till the end.

just checked the latest figures, and ps2 ain't the first hurdle, gamecube is. america is considered xbox's strongest territory, and yet there are 500,000 more gc than xbox in american homes. gc also outselling xbox in europe, and all the japanesse seem to favour sony and nintendo, cause they are japanesse companies. I know the japanesse economy is screwed right now, but that is no reason to favour ps2 and gc is it?

ps2 has sold 10 million units in japan, compared to 300,000 (3 hundred thousand) in japan. this is worrying is it not. also head of xbox in japan has just been moved from his post to one back in america. hopefully the new xbox japan boss will be able to make more inroads into the console market. if not, xbox may be doomed.

To be honest I wouldn't care less if no more games came out on the X-Box! It is THE BEST multimedia machine going. It is like having a PC under your TV.
Theres plently of classics to keep me happy and then theres all the emus, MAME, SNES etc.... Think of the thousands of clasic games you can play, all running perfectly! Then theres the Divx, VCD, Mp3 etc.....
Theres enough to keep me amused for ages yet. Its so much better than having to dig the SNES out and hook it up just to play Mario Allstars or UN Squadren!
