Default Need Mod-chip suggestion

sponsored links

I'm getting a PS2 mod-chip for christmas, I just don't know which one to say I want.
I have a v5/6 ps2 (My serial # begins with U3, and the date code is 1D, and the model is SCPH 30001R) . I'm looking for a no-solder chip that's relatively easy to install since I've never installed one before, and never opened up the ps2.

Any suggestions?

I see one for sale on easybuy2000, it just says it's a ps2 game enhancer set, comes with a no solder chip, and 2 cd's, one for booting dvd-r's and one for booting cd-r's.

Can anyone suggest a no-solder for my ps2?

There is only one no solder solution and it sounds like you've found the best as the swap magic disks are less hassle than one single action replay/gameshark as the boot disk.

U should get an Apple Chip for ur V5/V6....they are cheap, and if u find someone who can install it for you, u'll be much happier....

Ok, looks like I'll go with the enhancer set at easybuy.

I have no experience soldering, and no one I know has ever soldered anything, so getting an apple chip that needs to be soldered just isn't an option.
I can't afford to pack up the PS2 and send it to someone to have it modded either, that's just way out of my price range. I'd be wary of doing that even if I could afford it.
