Default How can I convert a DVD to an AVI file?

As topic folks.

Is this possible? What software do I need.

I am planning to buy an Achros Multimedia Jukebox, and would like to be able to play movies on it.

Rip it--> DVD2AVI to create D2V--> create AVISynth script-->Convert Audio with BeSweet or HeadAC3e-->Encode to AVI with VirtualDub-->Mux audio and video.

Anyway, I'm moving this to the VCD forum.
