Default advice needed on what steps need to be taken

i need some advice. here is my situation.

i have a ver 1 xbox with a enigmah final installed. i have done nothing else to the xbox. i want to be able to use evox and switch hard drives and use different xbox dashes (and all that fun stuff). i have the evox setup disk and bios. i have been to xbox-scene and read lots of tutorials. they are all very informative. my problem is that i have no idea where to start. i don't know what i should do first. can i flash the tsop with an enigmah chip installed? do i have to uninstall the enigmah? should i start with a new xbox and new mod-chip?

could someone maybe make a short list of the steps i should take first, then i could read the tutorials and figure it out from there.

much thanks for any help given!
