Hi 420,

No I didn't use verification after the burn. What diff will taht make if the burn went ok but the disk content is corrupt 10-20mins into the film?

Not sure what firmware my drive is, I would assume it's version 1.00 as it's a brand new drive dated October 2002 (IIRC). I can't for the life of me find out the firmware details under XP tho. Ne help would be handy..

***UPDATE***

Add to the previous list of success/failures:

I tried an El Cheapo Vivistar silver top (4 for 10) and the disk works fine and seems to have burnt fine as well. I think I buggered the chapters up tho on my first CCE/IFOedit rip tho, as it doesn't move through them as it should.

Have tried the following with Nero and RecordNow Max 4.5

FWS burnt OK @ x1
Choice OK @ x1
Datasafe White Top OK @ x1
Datawrite OK @ x2
Discplanet OK @x2

All play on my P & B 2233 DVD player

your firmware is 1.00,, my drive was also manufactored
in october 02....

well w/o verification (or watching the movie 100% all the way through or playing the game all the way through), you can't be positive it was a good burn. I have read about so many people getting "successful" burns with failures after the 4gb mark.

i cant burn anyting apart from cdr's
It doesnt recognise my Data safe GEN 3 dvdr ! or my normal datasafe white top
firmware 0.52 !
