You must have a dodgy drive. My 105 has burnt everything I have put in it.

eProformance 4.7GB DVD-R in jewel case
eProformance DVD-R are made to a high standard with an emphasis on quality control and good presentation. The result is a disc which is reliable, looks good and has excellent compatibility with a wide range of hardware.
The bottom of the disc has a dark purple writing surface.

Suggested for use on the following DVD Writers: Pioneer 103/A03, Pioneer 104/A04.

This disc writes at 1x

im burning bulkpaq gen 4 2speed @ 1 and 2 speed, the disc i copy off is same media but burnt with 104 (hacked firmware) which plays in chiped ps2s, but the copy i make will not play yet all the game data is on the disc. it will play using swap disc method on older ps2s, so the 105 burn is not so good as the hacked 104, makes sense to me, its like years ago some burners would burn better on some media than others.
im ordering verbs, tdk, and some other cheaper cds this morning to try it out. hope i can find something that this burner will burn for newer ps2s.
im in 2 minds to send it back and get 104.
