ps2- it appears that SOME systems need the thicer gauge wire for reset, although I can't figure out why. I've encountered one of these myself. Only with the Magic 3...

Didnt know that I have heard of people doing it for the magic 2

Maybe that will increase my ps2 dvd/dvd-r booting consistency I'll give that a try too then

Right now I am at about 70% boot the first time for my ps2 dvd/dvd-r
It alsways boots the second time for some reason or another

Does the laser make excessive noise when trying to adjust for the media right before boot? If so, your DVD Controller could be DEAD.

Nope... it doesn't make any noise. It boots original dvds just fine.

Mine goes to the ps2 logo then the red screen it doesnt seem to make excessive noise though but it always boots on the second try whenever it fails on the first one for dvd\dvd-r games
