Most avi file off kazaa can be convert. You're just either doing it wrong or don't know what you're doing. Use the tmpegwizard, and if it plays on your divx player then it should convert with no problem. What do mean it doesn't recognized the file.

Ive gotthe same problem. GPot says i havnt the right codec. Where can i get the right one from. Tried avi2vcd and that dosnt help saying the audio is compressed. Any help

How can anyone tell you where to get the codec when you haven't even said what it is??

AVI2VCD only supports PCM audio.

ok sorted the converting bit... but still have two dvd rips that i can not
play tried wmp./powerdvd /windvd/divxplayer alpha 2.0
one is a dvd rip divx avi..gspot says file unsurported stream or coruped file..
the next file is a dvd rip divx-vite. gspot says the same as above the files are
like mike..and minority report both from kazAa as any one download these
files from kazaa and got them to work.....

Possible that the files are just corrupt.. AVI's do not handle errors well at all. If the files were simply incomplete then they should still play with the divxplayer alpha 2.0. Although you might want to try running them through DivFix.

tried divfix it says they are not avi files???
