Unhappy ftp downloading problems!!! [; ; winXP]

need help with some comp probs im having...

i have access to ftp with dvdr movies etc.. on it.

i have set up bulletproof ftp server and i then use flash fxp to connect to my ftp and the movies ftp.

i then transfer from movies ftp to my own...

problems im having are as follows -

low speed
connection dropping out altogether

anyone help me out with any solutions or settings that may be of use...
much appreciated.

Sounds like one of you simply has a slow connection. There aren't any settings you can change to fix this, though for general minor speed improvements, you can tweak your system settings. Info [url=***********.speedguide.net]HERE. One of you could also be experiencing packet loss, an issue which one of you would need to talk to your respective ISPs about.

I'm always curious as to why people do things this way though. Why not set up FlashFXP on the PC where you will be storing the movies and just do direct download as opposed to FXPing from them to your other PC?

you get faster speed if you fxping it rarther than direct download to hardrive...
so im told....

That would only be true if the computer you are fxping [b]TO[/b] has a better connection than the computer you are on. For example I have 2 PC's on a home LAN and downloading directly to my main PC will give me the exact speed as using my main PC to fxp to my old PC.
