pc is brand spanking! hasnt used any other broadband on it EVER. how do i disable ethernet? and i do choose usb setup. is there no way around this? cos its kinda annoying, is there no way at all i can call a ntl engineer our?

nope, never connect it from my cable box.

the wire goes from my ambit cable modem to my usb port in my pc.

just phoned a local computer company up and he said he will try sort it out for 20 for each hour he spends on it. he says its not my pc or xp as he has the same as mine. and ntl insist its not the modem so its gotta be a small thing i gota do/change..ect.

My cable modem is built into ntl box and cable goes into network card on pc.

strange....

i have a ambit cable modem on its own coaxel cable is in it and power cable and usb cable.

any other ideas what could be the prob mate?

or anyone else at all?

any help would be great!

I've got the same, use the enet connecter the usb is crap.
Make sure it's enabled in the bios plug it in and xp will auto detect it.
you'll be on in 5mins
