Default 20-30 hours to rip a dvd, is this normal

does anone have any idea what I can do to make eazyvcd encode faster? It's taking anywhere between 20 and 30 hours for 1 dvd. Is this normal, I'm running a 900mhz athlon w/ 256 ram. Obviously a faster processor would probably help, but not having a job kinda makes that upgrade impossible, any other ideas? (How tough is overclocking, and how much would i gain?)

maybe you're ripping other stuff as well, like special features and whatnot. i personally use dvdx 8.0 to do ripping. it's easy to use.

I'm ripping only the movie, like the fast and the furious is going on 25 hours now, 45 minutes left. The ripping itself is fast, it's the tmpgEnc that takes all of the time, I just wanted to clarify. Is this still normal?

25 hours with a 900mhz , i only have a 1.2 which is not that much faster and it takes me about 5- 6 hours for about a 2 hour film.

Maybe you should get a p4 3.9ghz LOL
