use dvd2one
it rips just the dvd movie and splits it up evenly to cover the desired amount of cds that u want to put it on.. whether u want vcd or svcd.. i use it and i can do a whole movie in a short amount of time

mine was taking hours too i have a xp1600 so i tried a newer dvdrom drive i can do a dvd in 2 times the length of the film now

Konni3x, how much faster is flaskmpeg than DVDX 2.0 when encoding? I use smartripper. I only like SVCD formats. 1 more question, I burned a SVCD movie with Nero and tried playing on 2 DVD players, same make and model, it played on one and continued loading on the other. Any ideas about what may have happened or is happening?

Thats strange because as far as I know dvd2one is only for compressing dvd9's to dvdr, nothing else.

I doubt this. Ripping, normalising and encoding there is no way. Not even if you had that 3.9 that everyone talks about...which of course doesn't even exist...yet
