Question Is PGP still banned?

sponsored links

Some years ago i heard it was banned for being 'too' good at its job, [unlike politicans], so is it still rectricted, an moreover...

What OTHER similar programs were also banned for similar reasons?

Absolutely Not!! (Thank Goodness)

PGP is not banned. It did have export restrictions for a while that kept it from getting exported out of the USA, but those are gone now. Anyways, you can get info on it at www.pgpi.org

BUT, Phil Zimmerman (the original creator PGP creator) and some others have bought back the rights to PGP from Network Associates and are marketing it themselves. You can get it at www.pgp.com

I would recommend you buy it from www.pgp.com, because they are doing it th right way. They are even offering the source code for free to evaluate and examine the code. Very cool!!

Anyways, PGP rocks!!!

is nsa in maryland and nsa in north yorkshire uk

Hi Backup

Don't get me wrong, I don't doubt what you say and it sounds quite logical but I would be interested in where you learnt of this information, a friend of a friend of a friend reminds me of the world war two whispers which ended up something like "bring two and six we are going to a dance". Hey you guys that know the saying, please don't slate me I did say something like

I would also like to point out that, in all likelyhood, though it has (may have been) cracked by government officials (and after september 11th it would surprise me if it hasn't) the majority of hackers (probably all) do not know how to crack it, therefore, unless you are acting seriously illegally, you have no worries. They won't risk blowing their cover for minor offences. Just remember that you are accountable for anything you do on your computer, no mater how you try to cover your back, you can be traced if it is worth the effort.
