Default How much can I overburn a DVD-R (4.7G)

I soon get a DVD burner (a sony DRU-500A ) And i want to know how much i can overburn a DVD-R can i burn, can I burn 4.8G max or 4.9G or exactly 4.7G?

Overburn is generally pretty limited (at least in my experience.) also, remember that a DVD -r is really only about 4.3 GB, not the advertized 4.7. It is just a wonderful marketing lie.

I think 4.3 is the max you can burn.

It's just how you view it in Windows......4.384 GIG is like ~4,700,000,000 bytes)

This is one of my images.

4.29 GB (4,612,620,288 bytes) Depends what view you are looking at.......

So DVD-Rs do hold 4.7 gigs, but 4.384 gigs in most Windows Explorer, but in reality it's 4,700,000,000 or so bytes. Hence 4.7

Yea it suck, I was trying to fit 26 episode of cowboy bebop divx (4.7) onto 1 dvdr data cd, and it won't let it, because the max was only 4.3
