So where is the other point I solder to? I have tried different ways of booting up my DVD-R but nothing happens when I swap the disc's the DVD-R initializes then stops reading is the DVD-R a bad burn or what? because I tried to copy the PSS video files off of it and said can't read from source disc

What version is your Ps2 mate? Tell me that and I'll mail you the diagram for that model and Neo2.2. chip. The ninth wire is only for the CD-Brake function anyway.....

Thankyou thankyou thankyou for finally answering that question for me
no we can get somewhere I asked you this twice already

Use this here

***********.ps2docs.com/gs2dvdbooting.htm

This is the exact booting method for a version 2 ps2 with a Gameshark 2 version 2 if you follow these instructions to the letter it will work as long as
(set up your gameshark before your try the method the instructions on how to do that is on that page also)

1. you soldered the chip in correctly where the tray comes out and goes
back in by itself

2. Your backup is good

Also only use wires 1-8 the 9th wire is not needed the gamesharks version 2 works fine with 1-8 only please please please uninstall the 9th wire

1. When you try this method what happens?
(do you get a black screen? does the tray not eject? does the gameshark ever say updating codes?)

2. Did you soldered the chip in correctly where the tray comes out and goes back in by itself?

3. Have you had a chance to try your backup on another ps2?
