The Liteons will read and write a CDG disc when using Discjuggler or Clone CD.
The Liteon DVD drives will also read CDG discs, so if you have both then you can do them on the fly.

Default hope this is the last answer

hello all you karaoke dude's,i will now give you all the info on cd+g ripping...lite-on's can not read cd+g as they have not got a internall cd+g decoder so their for u can not rip individual tracks(cdr-win or disc juggler)..you can copy the complete karaoke disc using clone just make sure you read with your lite on copy with it and make sure subcode is checked....as far as i know it is only the plextors which can read and copy cd+g and the sony stopped using cd+g encoding technology after the crx-160e series....hope that helps you all,,,because if anyone say's the can create .bin file's on a lite-on using cdr-win with-out the help of karaoke playground site they are talking s"""........that is a fact...

See what I mean? Liteons do read/write cd+g or they dont? If they read cdg and can put a track onto a hard drive then compilatins are very simple to do but CAN they read the discs? I am not yet convinced. This is surely a simple fact to find out. If a liteon cannot read the disc how can you copy using discjuggler or anything else? Please convince me I am wrong.

In my lite-on, if I insert a Karaoke CDG into the drive, it will read as a audio disc only. However, I can use CDRWIN 3.9a to extract all the tracks as .BIN to the hard drive and then use MP3tools to sep the cdg and audio from the bin. I can burn back .bin files to the lite on and have them play fine on a karaoke machine.

My Artec DVD rom will also let me extract the .bin from karaoke discs.

please see the other thread regarding this topic for clarification of READ, WRITE and PLAY, they are three separate functions. It looks like some of you are confusing READ and PLAY.

Colbol you have got it spot on mate.

As for CDRwin, you can burn CD+G but can't read it. I don't think this is a problem with the lite-on, I reckon its the CDRwin software that doesn't support the reading with the liteon.

Technically any CD writer that is compatible with RAW+96 Disk at once mode will be able to read and write CDg.
