Default dvdr movies that dont play and its not a media problem

sponsored links

i have had a few movies that dont play in my sony standalone (dav880) although they play fine on the pc , i know its not a media problem as even when i burn the movie to another dvdr which i know is compatable in my player it still wont play , i can then rip / author and burn back to dvdr and it plays fine after this .
So does this mean its the authoring thats been the reason my sony wont play these few movies ? Or could it have been something else , im just looking for a reason why these movies play in other standalones but not my sony but is fine after i rip / author and burn back to dvdr ?

Yeah that sort of thing does my head in too... Not knowing what was the prob.

It must be an authouring problem as the same thing has happened to me on occasion. Maybe Sony and Pioneer (Mine) are funny players as a lot of peeps say they have no probs with things like Cyberhomes etc. DVDs that have not worked on mine have on my m8s Cyberhome. Weird.

Could be when the main vobs from VTS_01 that has been ripped are not in the structure and the IFO/BUPS are.
