try going into IE settings by Tools, Internet Options, Connections, Lan Settings and remove the tick in Autmatically detect settings and see what difference you get.

also try pinging 212.58.240.121 which is the bbc homepage.

Cheers, T.

OKAY - This is the situation of the PCs at the moment:

PC1 - Running Win XP - Dial Up Connection(Host)
Freeserve connection sharing enabled
LAN connection IP set to: 192.168.0.1, Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0, no Default Gateway, no DNS.

PC2 - Running Win 2000 (Client)
LAN connection IP set to: 192.168.0.2, Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0, no Default Gateway, no DNS.
Under LAN properties in Internet Explorer nothing is ticked.

Problem
The problem is that when I click on Internet Explorer it says connecting to 192.168.0.1 in Status Bar, then - PAGE CANNOT BE DISPLAYED

PC2 cannot PING external address'

What They Can Do
Both PCs can share files.
Ping each other

Does anyone spot anything wrong?

This is all the settings I have - anything not included has not been done - ANYONE?
