I'm still just getting the red screen as of right now the chip is connected just like a magic 3.1. this leaves the three wires on the bottom of the bios side connected to nothing I am going to check to see if the other wires may be lose or touching now but do those three need to be attached anywhere? I can't figure where if they would.

green lance- I think you may be referring to the B and C points on the bottom? If you have a V7 instead of V5 those are on the top. So there will not be anything on the bottom. First off, what version is this you are working on?

That's what I figured. Yes, B and C are on the top, so the clip on the bottom will have two blank points. I'd recheck my wiring if I were you. I just had a V7 that a cust. sent me with the P.O.S. bios chip clip. I removed the chip, hard wired the points to the chip (don't worry about W and GND because you should have soldered those to alternate points with the other clip) and everything was fine after that...
