Default Is there a way to give a power user permission to burn CDs in Win2k?

sponsored links

I need to give permission to power users to burn cds in any program, in nero, there is the burnrights program, but does that make it to where users can burn in any program or just nero? I need to give permission to a few users to burn cds in any program, it is very annoying for me to have to switch over to administrator and burn a cd, i lose a lot of my downloads and queues that way.
Thanks

What is the status of the account in question? The CD Writer Users are part of the Power User Group. Nero Burn Rights controls access to Nero only.

To allow Limited User's to burn CD's, click Start, Run and enter REGEDIT. Go to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon

Look in the right pane for AllocateDASD and double click the entry. Set the value to 2.
Restart Windows for the change to take effect.
Also go to Administrative Tools\Local Security Policy\Security Settings\Local Policies\Security Options and change the setting for "Allowed to eject removable NTFS media" to "Administrators and Interactive Users".
Otherwise just let them use Nero and grant access with Nero burn Rights.
