i played back using "WinCdg Pro2" however that proggie doesnt seem to recognise the BTC drive so i played it back in my HP....and it played back fine...having been ripped and Backed-up on the bTC.

Just what did you use to play back on your HP (laptop, I assume?) It might only be a sticky if we definately agree that this cheap cdwriter can READ a cdg disc and play on your computer.

i played it back on my COMPUTER using my Hewlet Packard 8100 cd writer.

Am I confused here? The aforesaid BTC writer will NOT read cdg discs that you have ripped using the previously refered to BTC drive, nothing new there then, nothing cheap reads them, stick to the Plextor.
