Yep ...... Ritek disks are far superior and have a wide compatibility with standalone players.

Stay away from Purple Bulkcrap, they are no good at all for movies, they're just not up to it.

There are two types of Purple Bulkpaqs.
The shitty ones are identified by a clear ring outside the inner purple ring.

Book Type DVD-R

Max Write Speed 1.0x 1385KBps
Write Rotation Control CLV
Max Read Rate 10.08Mbps
Linear Density 0.267um/bit
No of Layers 1

The better ones hve an opaque white ring outside the inner purple one.

My Pioneer will not write to the TDK ones with any firmware whatsoever!

This is the trouble with Bulkcrap, they change their spec. and dye type, without notice and no 2 batches seem to be the same. When you are buying them, it's hard to know which type are being offered and they sure as hell dont tell you.

Stick to Riteks, they may cost a litle more, but in the long run, it's worth the little extra, to lose all the hassle.

i think the datasafe blue/white tops 50 pack are the best media ive used on my ps2, they dont make an annoying soun d like all other dvdr do on me ps2
