is there any downside to using the x2 speed hacked firmware? i.e shorten life of writer,disks jumping(x1 speed,burned at x2 speed)etc?

just done a full disk at 2x in 29mins, disk used are 1x ritek g03 unbranded (silver tops)

ripped back to HD with dvd decrypyter to check for errors and worked 100%

Ok cheers for that biggy , looks like ill hav to get some riteks 1x , allthough im hopeing that FWS will be back soon with there 4x (yes i no its owned by ritek )

Will this firmware work with the Cendyne DVR-105 DVD-RW drive? I heard this drive is exactly the same drive as the Pioneer A05/105. Also, how do you know if the Ritek is G03? I was browsing through some DVD-R media sites and they don't post whether the Ritek is G03. Am I to assume that all Ritek 1x are G03? Thanks.

I am using it on the Cendyne105. The Riteks with GO3 are the ones that everyone has that say 1x/2x (on some dvd burners). I have only tested one disc but it burned fine at 2x. I am going to try it out more extensively and I will let you know raiden1817. I hope this helps.
