Default DVD-R works on Computer but NOT in standard DVD player

sponsored links

Hi,

At the weekend I brought a Pioneer DVD-105 DVD Writer to hopefully backup some of my prized DVD's but I am having problems playing the created discs on my stand alone DVD players.

When I have backed up the DVD and burnt it to a disk, the DVD works fine on my computers internal DVD drive but NOT on any of my stand alone DVD players. I have 7 standard alone DVD players around my home and the created DVD doesnt work on any of them.
Its doesnt even work on my Panasonic DMR-E30 Recordable DVD.
On some of the DVD players they try and read the disc but then fail and on others it says bad disc.

I have tried about 3 different types of media and the result is always the same.

The created vob files on hard drive work fine, the created DVD plays fine in the computers DVD........

My process of DVD-DVDR is as follows

1: Use DVD Decrypter ( Most recent version) to decrypt DVD to HD
2: Use DVD2One to create the processed files to the HD ( Most recent version)

3: Use Copy2DVD to burn the disc, I have also used Nero to burn the disc and its still the same result.

Can anyone shed any light on what it is I might be doing wrong?

Thanks

Skizz

My first guess would be your media. Try again using Riteks, they are very compatible with a large range of standalones. If these dont work ... Nothing will.

Also check out your standalones and confirm that they are capable of playing DVD-R's at : ***********.dvdrhelp.com/dvdplayers.php

If your PC plays them ok, there are obviously no corrupt files, so it does point to your media and your standalones not liking them.

Phil,

I am hoping it is the media.

The only things is, I have a panasonic DMR-E30 stand alone AV DVD recorder and I used the same blank media in this as I do in the Pioneer 105 and the discs work just fine.

I will try some different discs and hope for the best.

Thanks

I agree with both posts. Switch to Ritek first and then if that won't do it try going with Recordnow Max instead of Nero. I have had all sorts of trouble with Nero and cheap quality media.

You have to upgrade your nero to 5.5.10.20 to have compliant dvd's.
Once I upgraded I Had NO PROBLEMS EVER AGAIN !
the media doesnt matter too much. i use princos for gods sake !
If the dvd you're copying is under 4.7gb then use dvd decrypter to make a direct .iso copy.
If its over then use dvdshrink103, to IMGTool, to Nero 5.5.10.20
