Default Old and New Athlon ratings?

How do you calculate what an old Athlon would now be rated as?

I got the Athlon 1.4GHz and then they changed to XP and the speeds took a massive jump because they measured the speed the same as Intel did.

So how do I calculate this? And what is an old 1.4GHz in todays measurements?

I not sure what you mean. An XP, say 1900 is really a 1.67, it just supposed to perform the same or better than an P4 1.9. I'd assume a straight 1.4 would perform the same as an intel 1.4.........AMd's whole XP thing is for the people that buy cpu's based strictly on the ghz rating, so if someone was deciding between a P4 1.9 or an athlon 1900, they might take the AMD as it's probably cheaper, but if the same person saw it as a 1.67 they'd buy the intel, just because it sounds faster............I've never met anyone who actually bought a cpu this way, but some might exist somewhere.........my 2 cents, you got a 1,4 ghz cpu that performs against an intel 1.4..........does that yhelp any.............there is really no way to compare that to an XP, in my opinion........
