Default Is it worth it to upgrade from 40x write speed to 52x?

I burn mostly CDRs. How much faster is 52x than 40x in terms of recording time per disc? 1 80min CD-R @ 40x takes me about 3 mins. How much faster is 52x in real time? I rather ask people who has it than calculate the theoretical figure.

Well if you burn a lot of discs in batches then yes prolly, off the top of my head I would say my new 52X LiteOn is no more than 20 secs a full 80 CDR faster than my old 40X though. Of course this will vary from disc to disc, software & method used etc, etc.

I wouldn't. It really depends how much cdrs ur shelling out in a week. Me usually 5 to 10 and get this i am running a 8/4/48 Sony so i am a pretty pacient guy. But i wouldn't not really too much of a difference.

I just upgraded my cdrw to a liteon 52x24x52 theres not much point in changing. I still think the slower you burn the better.
