WOW! I didn't realise i had it until i went to this page and as soon as it loaded the 60 sec dialogue box came up. The computer would work fine until i loaded up this page, windows update or mcafee! Got the newest DAT for Mcafee and applied the fix from M$.

All seems to be well.........touch wood!

the other way to stop it from douing the 60 sec shutdown is to type shutdown -a from the run command - that should halt it

Depends on if you have a process running on your machine called MSBlast.exe.

If you do, you are infected with a Backdoor Trojan and need to get it cleaned out.

Two links from Symantec will help you do that:

Virus details and removal instructions:
********securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.blaster.worm.html
Virus Removal Tool
********securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.blaster.worm.removal.tool.html

The virus is placed after a succesful hack attempt and allows access even after the security loophole has been plugged.

Once you have patched Windows and made sure you don't have the virus, your clear to venture back onto the WWW.
