Thumbs down PS2 gone?

sponsored links

After just getting madden and playing it in the morning, I proceeded to go off to work for a couple hours. I came back and turned my system on, and nothing was working. I tried originals, backups,cd and dvd but nothing. All the system would do is sit on the browser screen. I would not get a red screen(you all should know the red screen). Anyway, I opened up the PS2 and kind of took the drive apart. I was planning on cleaning the lens of the laser, but after reading I think it is dead. Does anyone know if when the PS2 is turned on, the laser is suppose to light up, as I dont see anything. The laser however does move. So now after this problem, I have encountered a new one. Everytime I put the tray in, it pops back out automatically. Does anyone know why, and if and where I can find a new laser. Also some people say its sometimes a fuse. Well if a fuse is blown wouldnt the laser not move? Someone help me please!! :_(

UPDATE!!! I noticed that the blue light is always blinking. So say I turn the system on with the green button, the blue light automatically comes on and blinks until the tray is open. When I put the tray back in using the blue button, it keeps blinking until the tray pops out.

well I checked the tray, and am unsure how to get it on right. Also I am not looking INTO the laser, as it doesn't seem to even be turned on.

Have you tried unplugging the PS2 and letting it sit for a while. Sometimes thats all it needs.
