Question notebook card or laptop not working help pls????

i have a sony vaio laptop fx802
and a hi speed usb 2.0 notebook card

can any one help me please the laptop wont reconize my card or any other card i put into it ...

you need to go into the bios and make sure that PCMIA cards are enabled.

thier does not seem to be any way of disabling or enabling

in the bios

You don't enable/disable the card bus services in BIOS. Some older laptops may require you to load the PCMCIA driver included with the laptops. Do you see the Cardbus Controllers under PCMCIA Adapters in Device Manager?

One thing about USB 2.0, you must load the drivers included with the card or you must run WinXP SP1/SP1a or Win2K SP4 for the OS to recognize the USB 2.0 card.

i have a sony laptop amd 1500+ pre load with xp

device maneger says Texas Instruments pci 1420 card bus controller and their two of them ... i have instalded the suplied sowftware but my laptop just does know its thier

If you see TX Instruments cardbus controller then it means Windows already "sees" the cardbus slots. Windows XP does NOT support USB 2.0. You'll need to update to SP1/SP1a level or use the USB 2.0 driver for XP in the sticky I have on top of the forum.
