madden stops at loading screen

takes about a minute to reach the loading screen but goes no further.
backup made on ritek at single speed, no probs with other backups.
any ideas?

When was the last time you cleaned the laser?

cleaned on ps2 between attempts to get backup to play.
is it worth cleaning the burner (panasonic sw9581)?

I am having the exact same problem. My friend with a Magic 2 chip version 7 was able to play the disc with no problems. Mine with a no-solder won't work, another friend with a Neo 2.2 couldn't get it to work either. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Same problem here...I can get till the first 3 seconds of the field....and then....rrrrrreeeeekkkkk sound and freezes ...not very nice.....
