Movies in PS2

I got media player working but I have a quastion If I use it and watch avi and Divx movies will my Playstation's lens die or what ? Is it bad to watch movies on PS2 or it is the same as playing games I need help if u guys could help I posted this topic already but I need more information if you can help bye
