Default Just got a PS2 and have a few questions ...

 
Just got myself a ps2 so that the kids can play with the eyetoy

I also bought the offical online addon

I have a few questions that have probably been answered a million times before ...

1) WIll chipping the PS2 effect my online play i.e. will sony detect its chipped like microsoft does on the XBOX

2) Has anyone managed to get ONLINE with BT Broadband .. i was trying last night for hours

1) No there are only 1 or 2 games that currently have any kind of protection on them and you won't get yourself banned like you would with XBL. 2) Most people using this are on broadband so I am certain that it is possible to get on. Are you using a router/networking device?

Getting it chipped tomorrow am

As for the connection ... got it connecting now but it is so slow i can't make it through the registration process ...

Its an ADSL router and works like lightening on my pc ... i'm hoping its just the time of night on the registration server but we'll see ...

In the uk you can only go onile if you have broadband.

yeah its broadband !! still seems really slow during registration .. unable to register
