Default Internal vs. external writers

anyone know if there are performance setbacks using an external writer vs an internal one?

or do u think its better if i buy an external enclosure for an internal drive if i have to go external?

What are you planning on doing with your drive? If it isn't for a laptop and you aren't going to be switching it out between multiple machines, then you are just throwing away money. The external burners are just as good as the internal ones so the only issue is the cost. I would recommend getting an actual external burner instead of doing the enclosure and the internal drive. Some people have had problems getting those to work.
