Default External DVD writer problem

sponsored links

I have an hp external DVD+r writer that I connect to my laptop. Problem is that when I copy a DVD the source dvd gets to 100% then states that there was a problem copying and the cause could be dirt/fingerprints on dvd and to clean or insert another dvd. have to then go through the whole process again only to get same message. tried different dvd's but each has same error message. any suggestions?

Hi Guys,

DVD+R's are Datawrite - have purple brand and also yellow brand - never had problems in past.

As for the software, it is the software [recordnow] that came with the writer. It allows you to make copies of disks [not trying to copy originals here!!]. Basically, I am copying the football from the telly onto DVD+R then trying to make a copy of it for a m8 and brother. Never had problems before - only now am I getting this error message. The writer is less than 6 months old! HELP!

How did you create the disk you are trying to copy ? i.e. what drive was it burnt with.

Also .... is the source a rewritable, by any chance ?
