Default Trojan Horse virus

I have this trojan horse virus AVG cant remove it also in program files I have found "Internet Optimizer" I have tried to delete this but it wont let me any ideas full name of virus is trojan horse dowloader.dyfica.d

Right, go and download install Spybot - this will remove spyware like Internet Optimizer - the trojan you have also listed is part of the internet optimizer package - so should be removed when you select "check for problems"

No worries m8 and just out of interest did it find a lot more than just a few files and folders with spyware?

Hi Gooner yeh found about 15 files that had problems the Internet Optimize is still in program files but is not coming up as a virus anymore so I`m quite happy Cheers

Best to run it every week if you are a heavy internet user or run it a little less if you surf less - think you know what I mean.

Just to further things do you have a personal firewall installed - I see you have XP listed in your profile - have you got XP's firewall enabled or a firewall like Sygate or Zone Alarm?

They are worth having...........

Anyway - Glad to help mate on the initial problem.
