I'm trying to find out the make of chip i have in the x-box. I've taken it all apart, including the mother board. I can't see anything that lokks like it might have been added. Has anyone got any idea where the chip is or what i'm looking for.

thanks for all your help peeps!

It sounds like your TSOP has been flashed instead of a modchip.

Basically this means that whoever you got to mod your xbox, has just flashed the Bios chip built into the xbox motherboard, instead of actually installing a separate bios chip (a mod chip).

Re: my other post: Hope someone can help. The x-box has been chipped. My mate was trying to do something with the xbox, he went into the bios setting on the main screen, there were 2 options, one was X-Ecuter, the other one is the one he went into. Next thing we knew, something started erasing. Now when we try to turn it on, the eject light flashes red and green and nothing happens. it would be appreciated if anyone has any ideas on this.

cheers

Afraid to say... you'll need to buy yourself a proper chip!

When he went into the bios though, there were 2 bios opitions. The top one is the one he went into but i can't remember what it said, the bottom one did say 'x-ecuter'. Does that not mean there is an x-ecuter chip in it? Also, pls forgive me, i am a total novice, the x-box HAD been opened up, so does that mean that something has been fitted?
