Default No Solder Modchip

sponsored links

I have had a no solder mod chip for about a year now and everything has been working great until lately when some games would not load. I have been using Fuji and Verbatim DVD's so that has not been the problem. My PS2 is about 3 years old so I got a brand new PS2 and put the no solder mod in the backups will not load. I am using a Gameshark Version 2 and the following boot method.

1. Boot up the GameShark 2 screen
2. swap Gameshark disc with GTA3 original
3. Go to Dave Mirra codes and turn some on.
4. go to start game with codes
5. Hit x and when it says updating codes I hold in the reset and the disc comes out fast.
6. Put in the backup DVD and the tray closed by itself.

Then the screen goes blank and the DVD should load. The screen goes blank 1/2 of the time and the game never starts.

Could my No-solder chip be bad or does anyone else have any suggestions.
My no solder mod seems to work because when I hold it in it turns orange and comes out fast and closes by itself.

Please Help!

Thanks

Ok, this is driging me crazy. Now when I boot up my Gameshark Disk the screen comes up and the message at the bottom of the screen is scrolling that says Gameshark codes now loading and about half way through it freezes up. Could it be my gameshark disc or the dongle?
Please help.

you need a swap magic to boot in a version 7 with no solder
could be your laser or the media that you put the games on
What games are you trying to boot?
Also to you have a pal ps2?

How do I tell if I have a version 7 from a 5 or 6? It is NTSC. The PS2 is new and they are verbatim and fuji. I have tried many games and they used to all work. I think I have a version 7, how can I check? Can I use an Action Replay?
