That could be, but usually if a wire came loose your PS2 would not function at all. The wiring would be my last guess. If you've never opened a Ps2, be careful as I've had customers destroy their PS2 because they wanted to open it up and look around. There are a lot of delicate ribbon cables and such...

Hmm....maybe I'll just try the new software. If that doesn't work I'll ship it back to my installer as they have offered to check it out, I just wanted to avoid having to do that. Thanks for your advice Madison....

Good luck, hopefully you can find the trouble. Let us know what you find...

Still no joy...tried everything I can think of...different booting methods..different media...even tried downloading a backup in case I was messing up the rip from the original somehow...still won't boot. I read on the Messiah 2 troubleshooting guide that it could be a problem with the E or W wires, has anyone ever encountered this problem?

Sounds like you should get your installer to fix it for you. A wire probably came loose.

Never had any specific problem with either of those two points. I'd check all points for continuity with a volt/ohm meter and make sure they are all connected. If you didn't use flux or proper soldering techniques (I have no idea of your soldering experience) you may even have a cold solder joint or something...
