Default Grr first coaster!

Is this due to dodgy media, me or something else?

Ritek Datasafe white tops

Disk had done 100% but the buffer was coming completely down - thought it must have finished.

Then I got an error about: "Could not perform end Disc-at-once"

Here's what it says:

 unlucky :S

Grr i'll put it down to experience then.

Got a princo 4X to test now anyway lol, which doesn't help to say if its' the media but ah well.

Simulation seems to be fine so i'll just put it down to bad luck

Did you check the back of the disc for spotting in the dye?

Yup, couldn't see anything wrong with it.

Princo one burnt fine. Strange to say there was less fuss at the end than with the last Datasafe I burnt sucessfuly.

Princo just went to the end and stopped, whereas hte datasafe kept going for a bit.

EDIT: FFS loaded it in power dvd and i get "This DVD title's file format is invalid"

Have I ripped something badly here?! Last time I did one, i accidentalyl ripped it as a .iso using dvd decryptor. Used iso buster to get the bits out.

Then made it using Dvdshrink, before finally burning it with nero.

Is there a chance there's too much data? Something like 4.33GB i think :S

RE-EDIT - just noticed on the princo there was something on the surface. Picked it off with a thumbnail and suprise suprise under there is a few dots of undone dye.

Do I risk another go at this one with a Datasafe? Need to know if there's too much data

FINAL EDIT: Just tried to play it in WMP. It gets as far as the language select screen but no further.

Is this down to the fact I removed all languages bar english?

the one you tried in PowerDVD ? was it the Princo ? was the 'blemish' near the outer edge of the disc ?

if it spits it out then it looks like there is something wrong with the structure of the DVD .... you could maybe try to rip it again and burn it to a DVD-RW, this way you don't waste any more cash

if its 'pitted' or the are blemishes then i guess you've just been unlucky with the media -

i could be wrong here, but i did get a couple of backups a few weeks ago and the outer edge of the disc was badly marked, the dye - not the surface of the disc, but i was able to rip the discs to movie only versions using dvddecrypter, ifoedit & nero - both films failed on the menus (similar to yours) but i guess the vob's were closer to the centre of the disc or something as i was able to rip them ok .... i lost the menus, but i have 2 perfect film only versions

get a couple of dvd-rw ... it'll be worth it in the long run
