Default Are Memorex DVD+R 4X discs good for dvd movie backup?

sponsored links

I trust Verbatim but I got 50 Memorex DVD+R 4X blank discs so im wondering if they are reliable or better.

I also got another question but maybe is for the overclocking forum but here it goes:

If you overclock your system and/or video card, does it affect in the dvd recording process? (get recording errors or increase the probability of movie skipping?)

Thank you

Im a fan of Memorex DVD+R Cds.. so far I havnt had a problem with them. Some people prefer Fuji but IMO Memorex is just as good and goes for about 1/2 - 3/4 the price of Fuji DVDs.

Guys, guys, guys.....

We must get away from the brand names a bit more in this forum and start looking at who *really* makes the disc instead. Neither Memorex or Verbatim have ever made a blank DVDR, they are simply a brand name.

Download the FREE DVD Identifier from [URL=********dvdplusid.cdfreaks.com/]HERE and do a quick scan of both discs and see who makes them.

I know the Verb "-R" discs come up as "MCC 01..RG2" dye which is...... Mitsubishi and IIRC the Memorex discs are uaually made by CMC. Don't know about the "+R" discs though but it would not surprise me if they were exactly the same dye again.

Here's how a Traxdata 4X DVD-R shows up in DVD Identifier.....

Ok...

I used the DVD Identifier and it told me it was made by RICOHJPN-R01-02

That one is good?

I've used the Memorex 4X +Rs and they worked well for me. I also have some TDK 4X +Rs and they were also made by Ricoh.

This is why I stick to unbranded discs that are straight from the source. That way you always know what you are getting and in most cases it saves you money.
