Default Princo media for DVD player

sponsored links

I've been reading, the PS2 forum, and it seems that the Princo media aren't recommended as it wear-out the PS2's laser.

I have a question, does the Princo media also damage the laser on the stand alone DVD player?

BTW the DVD player i have is Sony (recent model)

No it won't damage the laser on a DVD player IMHO.

Some DVD player lasers just find it harder to read the lighter dye discs such as the Princo's that is why overall a darker dye disc such as a Ritek will be usually far more compatible with a number of players.

Not at all, backups of backups retain the same quality. BTW you can get riteks at a decent price from www.blankdiscshop.co.uk. Just steer clear of the so called "Ritek" Bulqpaq/Datawrite discs as they are B Grade quality. Unbranded Ritek/Ridata or Traxdata would be my recommendations.

@jesterrace777, don't think that they are in the UK.

You can get Ritek's for $110/50 here (Melbourne) which works out to $2.20 each.

Ah, my bad on that one. If he is from AUS, I appologise. Whenever I see references to "cheers" and "mate" I automatically assume they are from the UK since so many of this site's members are from there. Either way people need to get in the habit of specifiying which country they are from when they ask where to get things. After all this is the World Wide Web.
