Default CDs now taking 10 mins to burn instead of 3!

Win XP;

EDIT : ISO cds take usual time, just audio that take ages now!!

ISO cd gives me 48x option, audio will only give me 40x max

Using Nero, used to take 3 1/2 mins tops, now taking up to 10 mins (Benq 4816A 48x writer with latest firmware).

Using same media as I always have done, any ideas??

First thing I would do is check that DMA is enabled.

have you just changed the cd writer or is the PC newly built?

if newly built you will need to install the via 4in1 or nforce2 ide chipset drivers, depending on your mobo, first. saying that it may be worth reinstalling them anyway.

Cheers, T.
