Default Choice of 3 windows XP bootups in DOS ...

sponsored links

OK, managed to screw my original XP, and after much messing about managed to re-install a new one in dos, but when my PC boots up it gives me a choice of which one to use;

Windows XP Professional (this is the working one)
Windows XP Professional (this is the screwed one)
Previous operating system on C: (havent tried this one!)

I know the first one works, and its a pain having to select the one I want every time my PC boots, just want it to select the right one its self and get on with it!

Right click on My Computer and select properties. Then go to the Advanced tab and click Settings under the Startup and Recovery section.

Click Edit to open your boot.ini file and manually remove the entries to the non-working installs. Make sure you take out the right ones though!
