Default ? about DMS3

On the site I posted about (Extreme electronics) I noticed a clip offered for the DMS3 for $10, it's said to reduce the number of soldered connections to 7. ? is, why haven't I seen this part listed any place else?

There has been clips for most of the mod-chips. The reason you don't really see them anywhere is because they are VERY unreliable and cause more problems than they are worth, normally resulting in a dead console.

My advice for what its worth is to stay WELL clear of them and solder ALL your connections.
