I have to agree with neverMindNames, the ps2 hdd project is in the infant stage of development. It will probably never see it's Teen phase as it is very limited in the things you can do with the ps2 hardware.

gohan5052 your suggesting $ony will package the HDD with $ony cd ripping software? Sounds like bull shite to me. I mean the lasers on
PS2's can barely handle playing original media, how do you think it will handle ripping cd's? Ps2 games aren't implemented with custom soundtracks so this feature would just make your ps2 a jukebox. Would be a nice wish but I don't think the genie is listening.

"handyguy is right, but

What did we need a PS2 for? PS1 was doing great. It was on top."

Actually, I really was wondering what you can do with it. The fact it comes with FF & its 40gigs makes me think that you can load your games to it & play from there.

luckly i think you are right. not sure what it means by storing cd's though (who would actually store .wav's files? not to mention this cd will have to be orginal, no cdr/dvdr without modchip)

it doesnt mention anything worth wild though, store .mp3's on a HDD? this gets back to what i said orginally, basically is it worth it?

you really cant use it for anything but game saves, mini-games, and .mp3's...wow, thats so grea....n/m :-).

however this isnt factual yet, so to quote you, "lets just wait and find out"
